Nilton Cacoilo is a 24 yr. old, Former Marine. While he was active in the Marine Corps he served 2 tours in Iraq. On November 4, 2009, he was diagnosed with Leukemia, specifically Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). Besides the various Blood Transfusions, Nilton and his Family have been informed that he needs a Bone Marrow Transplant.
After numerous rounds of Chemotherapy, Nilton was transfered to a hospital that specializes in his condition. He was allowed to finally come home and will receive treatment as an Outpatient until a MATCH is found, at which time he will begin the Chemo/Radiation to prepare him for the Transplant.

Hey Everyone!
I wanted to reach out to everyone who was able to make it out to UHS for the Blood/Bone Marrow Drive. Whether you were able to donate or not, Thanks for your support for Nilton.
We registered more than 200 bone marrow donors and still ran out of Kits! There will be 4 other Donation Drives (see events page) or you can register online using the Virtual Code (located on About us Link).
We were limited in our Blood Donation capabilities. The technicians spoke with 131 people and 112 were able to Donate! I apoligize for those who took the time to make appointments and may have been turned away due to the extremely high number of Walk-Ins. There will be 2 other Blood Drives in January also (see events page). We hope you understand if you were unable to donate and mainly....
I want to Thank you for showing your Support for Nilton! We had a great turn out and hope the same occurs at the Blood and Bone Marrow Drives to come!!!
